Chocolate covered strawberries?
Q : I'm planning on making my girlfriend chocolate covered strawberries for valentines day and i was wondering if someone could help me out. I'm planning on using ghiradelli milk chocolate and then lace them with white chocolate.i only have a stainless steel bowl so if you could help me with that and any other tips or make sure they come out perfect! thanks for the help!!ooh one note, about the type of chocolate, she really loves chocolate so dark chocolate wont be the best because she doesn't like it, thanks again!
A : place the bowl over simmering, NOT boiling, water to melt the chocolate.
coat the strawberries with the milk chocolate.
let harden on wax paper
next, melt the white choc the same way
dip a fork into the melted white choc and swing it back and forth over the coated strawberries
be sure your strawberries are washed and thoroughly dry before coating them
How do you make chocolate covered strawberries?
Q : Can you use nutella? What is the name of that chocolate that hardens?
A : You could dip strawberries in Nutella but it will never harden. If you buy chocolate chips or melting wafers from the grocery store, melt them, dip the cleaned berries, and then let them dry on waxed paper they will harden.
How long will chocolate covered strawberries stay in the fridge?
Q : So Valentines day is next Tuesday n ima go to the store this weekend to buy strawberries n make them Sunday night will they still be good in the fridge by Tuesday morning? Thanks(:
A : 2 days max. I make them all the time this time a year (Valentine's Day) They start to sweat and shrink... They last longer if the chocolate you are dipping them in isn't scalding hot.... use cooled melted chocolate for more lasting results. I make Tuxedo strawberries every year... https://www.google.com/search?q=tuxedo+strawberries&hl=en&rlz=1C1TSNP_enUS460US460&prmd=imvnse&source=lnms&tbm=isch&ei=BvoxT5G2BPLXiAKVsIWeCg&sa=X&oi=mode_link&ct=mode&cd=2&ved=0CFUQ_AUoAQ&biw=1138&bih=535
How can you store chocolate covered strawberries overnight?
Q : I'm planning to make chocolate covered strawberries & banana slices.
1. Can I cover a plate with plastic wrap & then put the strawberries on or does it need to be wax or parchment?
2. Do I cover the plate with plastic wrap?
3. Do I leave it in the freezer overnight or just the regular fridge?
Thanks in advance!
A : Yes, you can cover the plate with plastic wrap, wax or parchment paper. But, the cover over the dipped fruit should not touch the fruit. You might use a bowl to cover them. I use plastic Tupperware that is taller than the fruit and has a tight cover. Because it's plastic I don't even need to line the plate. Because it's overnight you don't have to freeze it.
