What is your favorite gourmet chocolate brand?

What is your favorite gourmet chocolate brand?

Q : For eating?
For baking?
Are you willing to pay more for it?
How often do you buy it compared to buying regualr chocolate(such as hersheys or nestle's)

I prefer Godiva,See's or World's Finest Chocolate(anything with almonds and toffee) to eat and for baking I prefer Ghirardelli's or Godiva.
A : We have godiva shops in our town centers its a dream .....it's the best ..We have two shops within five miles..they are absolutely to die for!
I dont bake w chocolate a lot my family wont eat it..
they prefer carmel apples or an angel food cake etc.
Yes I will pay more for quality.
I do purchase hersheys in the summer for the kids to sit around the open fireplace and roast marshmallows and hershey bars on graham crackers..for some reason the chocolate there is ALWAYS gone.

Which chocolate brand is the best for baking and candy making?

Q : What type of chocolate do they normally use for making "Gourmet Chocolates"?
A : While I like and use both Nestles and Hershey chocolate for baking and candy making, neither is best for this job. For gourmet chocolates you need gourmet chocolate. For fancier candy making I like Ghiradelli chocolates.

What are the best chocolate brand names out there for white in particular?

Q : I love white chocolates. Always buy them at specialty chocolate stores like godiva and some place else to buy white choc. like grocery stores. Where can I find more good quality white chocolate brand names out there? Thanks!
A : White 'Chocolate' isn't chocolate, but I'm sure the best tasting is either Godiva or Ghirardelli.

What fair-trade chocolate brands should I look for?

Q : I saw a television program last night about fair-trade chocolate and I'm relatively convinced. What kinds of fair-trade chocolate are good? What brands are fair-trade? Is it easy to find?
I probably should have added that I live in the U.S.
A : Just seen your update - I would have a look at this US based company

Divine is a good brand - all fair trade and some fab flavours like their milk chocolate and orange bars (infinitely better than the Terry's version). Their bars are slightly more expensive than others but you pays for the ethical consumerism.

Dubble is also good - like Wispas used to be, i.e. like Aeros with smaller bubbles!

All these bars taste a bit more like Lindt/Gold and Black than say Cadburys, so you get a more expensive taste for your money too.

Find these bars in health food stores, independent grocers, supermarkets such as Sainsburys and, for some reason, in my local student union (Manchester univeristy).
